NovoHydrogen, a Colorado-based startup and green hydrogen developer, has signed a lease for a three-acre site in Frederickson, Washington. The facility at 5304 184th Street E. will be the company’s first Washington plant, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal. NovoHydrogen will install a green hydrogen production system, with the plant featuring electrolyzers, compressors and storage.
In September, the company raised nearly $23.7 million from 16 investors. And in October, NovoHydrogen was selected to begin award negotiations by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) for the development of a Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub, which in total is estimated to receive up to $1 billion in bipartisan infrastructure law funding. OCED funding will support NovoHydrogen’s participation in the Hydrogen Hub through the advancement of planning, detailed design, environmental permitting, and procurement of long-lead equipment.
