New 7th Ave Penn Station Entrance Opens

Amtrak and Vornado Realty Trust revealed the reimagined 7th Avenue entrance at New York Penn Station, aiming to improve accessibility and the visitor experience. The revamped space boasts wider sidewalks, additional escalators, and a glass canopy to infuse natural light into the station’s concourse.

“We are proud to roll out the welcome mat to our new, modern entrance for the 600,000 daily New York Penn Station visitors,” said Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner. “Having a direct, accessible entrance at 32nd and 7th will improve the customer experience for all passengers as they can now take an elevator, walk down wider stairs and have an added, third escalator to help them enter or exit the station.”

The entrance features an ADA-compliant elevator, more escalators, expanded sidewalks, and a luminous glass canopy designed by architect Lord Norman Foster’s firm, Foster + Partners, to enhance the station’s connectivity with the street.
